A storytelling evening in the forest by Lilla Änggården – for children, families, and everyone.

Sagor i Skogen celebrates that tradition, magic, and craft of storytelling, and new tellings of cultural heritage.

On December 17th, children and families from around Gothenburg were invited to travel into the forest for an evening of stories. We met at Lilla Änggården just before sunset and walked together into Lilla Änggården’s English Park, following a trail of lights to show the way.

Sagor i Skogen featured folk music from Fredy Clue as well as a special appearance from the 400 year-old Forest Spirit (Skogs Väsen), who came to share a story.

Scenography was designed with the goal to create a new way to experience the forest. Lace curtains were hung in trees that surrounded the gathering place, and lights hung in front of the curtains. These simple elements transformed the space, yet also maintained the feeling of being in the forest. An in-between space, a magic space where new realities could emerge.
